Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

The department consists of two divisions, the Department of Surgery and the Division of Oral Diseases. Students of the third year, i.e. the fifth semester, start studying oral diseases and continue to the subject in the sixth semester.

Dental Public Health

Dental public health is science and art of preventing and controlling dental diseases and promoting dental health through organized community efforts. It is that form of dental practice which serves the community as a whole rather than the individual.

Orthodontics & Peadontics

The undergraduate training in orthodontics and maxillofacial orthopedics focuses in developing the knowledge and skills to identify the developing malocclusions and make students familiar with treatment options in orthodontics. More emphasis is given to the category of case that needs interception within the range of capability of future general practitioner.

Basic Dental Sciences

Basic Sciences Department is considered to be the largest department in the College of Dentistry. It deals with the sciences that are basic to learn Dentistry, preparing students for professional subjects in the last 2 years of their college life. The subjects of this department are mainly studied in the first, second and the third year of study in the college.

Restorative Dental Sciences:

01  – Operative & Endodontic

Conservative dentistry and endodontic is a branch of dentistry concerned with the conservation of the teeth in the oral cavity. It embraces the practice of operative dentistry and endodontic and includes various kinds of direct restoration and indirect restoration, using different restorative material, of individual teeth.

02  – Periodontics

The Department of periodontology is one of the clinical specialized departments in the Faculty of Dentistry. The Department provides specialized treatment services and surgery of gingivitis, periodontitis and dental implants as well as conducting research at the level of basic and clinical sciences.

03  – Removable Prosthodontics

Prosthetic dentistry is the branch of dentistry pertaining to the restoration and maintenance of oral functions, comfort, appearance and health of the patient by restoration of teeth and/or replacement of the missing structures with removable and fixed dental prosthesis.

04  – Fixed Prosthodontics

The Department is responsible for teaching of fixed prosthodontics, research and clinical services. The pre-clinical phantom head lab is used for pre-clinical training of undergraduate students.

Nile University Campus Complex

 Nile University is located in Khartoum East, on the eastern bank of the Blue Nile, Eilafon Road – directly east of Manshia Bridge, in the centre of the   University Residential area. called Faihaa.

 It consists of the Basic Sciences Complex, Faculty of Pharmacy, Research Centre Faculty of Medicine and the university Hospital site. The Faculty of   Dentistry is mainly Housed in the Dental Hospital.

 The faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Computer Studies occupy the Northern Building, next to Al Faihaa Secondary School for   Girls.The  Faculty of Nursing Sciences and the Faculty of Medical Laboratory sciences are housed next to their facilities in the Main Building.

INTERNAL MEDICINE

Internal medicine department is the most demanding clinical department, concerned about prevention, detection and treatment of varieties of diseases in adults .

ANATOMY

Anatomy is primarily the scientific study of the morphology of the human body.It is subdivided into gross anatomy, microscopic anatomy, developmental anatomy and neuroanatomy.

COMMUNITY MEDICINE

The term community medicine came into reality in 1968 in England when it was instituted by an Act of Parliament in every medical school. Since then, it possessed a growing global interest as it encompasses the previously known concepts and elements of the public health, preventive medicine, community health and social medicine sciences.

PHYSIOLOGY

Physiology is central in medicine and related health sciences. It describes the normal functions of the different parts of the body. It also describes how the human body is designed to resist changes in the external environment. This knowledge is vital to grasp the pathological changes in diseases and how they can be to bring back the normal state.

PEDIATRICS

Nile University is rapidly accommodating more students in the Faculty of Medicine each year. We are proud graduating our 10th Batch this year. Our goal is to continuously evolve as one of the leading academic departments of Pediatrics in Sudan focusing on excellence in teaching and training providing undergraduate students and clinical training for the next generation of pediatrics healthcare professionals with the necessary competencies.

The department of biochemistry provides tuition for undergraduate students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and MLS programs

Pathology

The Department of Pathology is concerned with teaching pathology as the backboneof clinical practice. Pathology is an essential science for other colleges including: Dental, Pharmacy, MLS. and Nursing programs.

Microbiology

The medical microbiology course will give the students a solid grounding in all aspects of microbiology, enabling them to understand the pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and control of infectious diseases.

The Nile University organized the award distribution program for the final year of the Faculty of Medicine in the presence of the Director of the Nile University / Prof. Muhammad Youssef Sukkar, Secretary of Scientific Affairs / Prof. Hamad Ali Hamad Al-Trabi, Dean of the Faculty of Medical / Prof. Sulaiman Hussein Suleiman, Heads of departments, Academic staff members and parents.
Graduate Othman Sediq Othman won the award for best performance in the final year for all subjects and the prize of Pediatrics, and the graduate Mouda Yakoub Othman won Professor Dawad Mustafa Award in internal medicine, and Dr. Sulaiman Madawi Award in women and obstetric, and the graduate Awab Hamed Al-Tayeb Hamed Award Prof. Abdulhamid Bayoumi in surgery.
