Nile University offers a bachelor’s degree with honors for the specialization in information systems, which contains two departments, management information systems and health information systems

Management information system degree (MIS) combine information technologies and managerial decision-making methods to analyze, design, implement, and manage computerized information systems in an organizational setting.

MIS graduates pursue careers in a variety of business roles that specialize in computer-based resources, information resource management, and computer systems development. Information technology professionals are currently some of the most sought-after employees in the business, and information systems are one of the most difficult areas for companies to find qualified job candidates.

Degree Requirements: Programs require students to complete 164 credit hours to offer honor degree. Requirements include: foundation courses required for Professional Admission*, general education requirements, professional core courses, free electives and a set of specific MIS courses. Sample MIS Courses: Introduction to Java Programming; Algorithms and Data Structures; Data Communications and Networking; Database Management Systems; Management Information Systems; IT Infrastructure Management; Decision Support Systems; and IS-Entrepreneurship.

MIS graduates will find career opportunities wherever computers are used in business, industry and government. Here are a few examples:

Website Management-E-commerce Development-Decision Support Systems-Credit and billing Systems-Inventory Control Systems-Software Product Development-Knowledge management systems and business analysis.

Welcome to the Department of Information Technology at NU- Sudan

The department offers a practice-oriented curriculum that spans eight semesters. The main subject areas include Information Technology (IT), with special emphasis to Communication and proficiency in the English Language.

IT has high priority in modern society. IT has been incorporated into many areas to help create strong and competitive organizations. The aim of the B.Sc. in IT is to educate & train graduates with a solid base in the areas of IT and the applications of information technology. Students graduate with an Honor’s Degree after successfully completing 166 credit hours.

Software Engineering

Welcome to the Department of Software Engineering at NU- Sudan

The bachelor’s degree with honors in software engineering has a high priority in modern society, and has been integrated into many fields to help create strong and competitive organizations.

The software engineering degree is based on international standards and academic excellence (ACM, IEEE, AIS and International Universities). This program will prepare graduates for a career in the professional software engineering field.

The range of courses offered have been designed by experts with extensive experience both locally and abroad; based on the international community (ACM, IEEE and AIS). One of the most important models of software engineering courses is Software Engineering Project Management.

The field of Software Engineering is rich with career opportunities with excellent starting salaries for qualified employees. Businesses, government agencies, financial and marketing institutions, hospitals, retail organizations, and small businesses require the services of computer programmers, and software engineering scientists. Graduates will be able to proceed for postgraduate studies with particular focus on global markets.

Typical job titles include: Software engineer, software tester, software project manager, software requirements administrator, software developer and application developer.

 the faculty have many resources shared with other faculties, but the main building of the faculty consists staff offices which is prepared by high quality environment, and also number of six computer labs, seven lecture rooms prepared by aids teaching tools (monitor, PCs, Projector shows tool) presentation room shared with business faculty, the building provided by safety tool and escaping holes.
